Notes:

  • The height of the main structure excluding all appurtenances such as rods, antennas, obstruction lights, etc., determines the number of light levels.
    Note: Any appurtenances over 40 feet (12 meters) requires additional lighting, consisting of a Medium Intensity L-865 White Strobe.
  • When high intensity white lights are operated 24 hours a day, other methods of marking and lighting may be omitted. This system should not be recommended on structures 500 feet (153 meters) AGL or less unless an FAA aeronautical study shows otherwise.
  • The chart above illustrates the requirements for standard lighting of towers and supporting structures in accordance with FAA Advisory Circular 70/7460-1; Chapters 3, 4, 7, and 13.
